When I started playing guitar in 1979, I immediately realized that I loved guitars as much as I enjoyed playing them. I tore them apart, learned how they worked and tried out all my crazy ideas. After years of learning on my own, I got lucky and landed my dream job of building guitars in 1991. It wasn’t always glorious…..I swept the floors, sanded bodies and necks for hours, installed frets and learned how to use the machines. But I loved it and was undeterred, and eventually moved up to full build and design. My guitar obsession led me into an actual career in the industry, finally!

My guitar journey landed me in Los Angeles in the late 90’s. The mecca for all things music and guitars! It started with touring the world as a guitar tech for major artists, morphed into working at other guitar companies to opening my own repair shop in 2002.  Then that fateful day in 2011 when I was approached to start my own company, and Luxxtone Guitars was born.

I always wanted to make guitars that I liked but couldn’t find in other companies. My three rules are a guitar has to play great, sound great and look cool. Many other companies offered some of that, but most didn’t offer all three….so I decided to do it myself.

The guitars we make at Luxxtone reflect what I love about guitars. The feel and vibe of old vintage guitars, but with the fretwork and playability of the best high-performance guitars, all while looking cool and unique. I absolutely follow the old-school concept of building custom guitars: Build them one at a time, make each one have its own unique vibe, and do it right.
